Membership of HKAI is open to any person or corporate working or interested in advertising. Admission to the membership is based on education, experience and satisfaction of the HKAI fit and proper criteria.
Individual Membership :
Individual members must attain at least 18 years of age. There are three categories of individual membership which reflect their level of academic qualifications, work experience and contributions to the industry.

- Assocate Member
- Student
Honorary Member （ FHKAI（ HON ））:
Being invited by the Council of HKAI and bestowed upon an individual who has made unique, unparalleled contributions to the society or the advertising industry.
- conferred by committee of HKAI in recognition of distinguished services; and
- at least ten years of work experience in advertising.
Fellow （ FHKAI ）:
- Degree holder or above;
- being active in the areas sufficiently related to the advancement of, or service to, the advertising industry;
- substantial contributions to the advertising industry;
- agree to adhere to the ethical code of HKAI; and
- undertake a minimum of 15 hours of CPD per annum.
Full Member （ MHKAI ) :
- Degree holder or above;
- being active in the areas sufficiently related to the advancement of, or service to, the advertising industry;
- at least five years of working experience in the industry
- agree to adhere to the ethical code of HKAI; and
- undertake a minimum of 30 hours of CPD per annum.
Associate Member （ AHKAI ) :
- holder of a professional certificate recognized by HKAI

- at least three years of work experience in advertising;
- agree to adhere to the ethical code of HKAI; and
- undertake a minimum of 30 hours of CPD per annum.
Student Member :
- Students who is taking advertising related program recognized by HKEMB
Corporate Membership :
Corporate membership is available to businesses in or associated with the advertising industry. Corporation or Business name appears on all HKAI's documents rather than an individual's name. All employees may take full advantage of the savings and benefits of Corporate Memberships.
